Docs. Left by Babak on Nov 28, 2009 5:25 PM # re: Re-Installing Daemon Tools Lite (and SPTD) on Windows 7 Thanks so much! But if I delete all the SPTD keys, I can start with no problems. Register now! http://forum.daemon-tools.cc/f19/setup-unable-validate-installation-18588/

I have windows XP. In regedit select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then edit and FIND. DELETE THIS TOO. I downloaded a new version of SPTD (1.60) from the product page but I had the same problem, SPTD installed, asked me to restart and then couldn’t detect the installed driver.

If you are unable to delete the registry, do change the permission on each sub folder under each folder. All this was with the version 4.30.3 I hope you can fix this too... Older Windows version. Then restart pc and try to install SPTD 1.60 again.

I had to do all the steps manually. Had to bang my head against it a few times, but got it to work eventually thanks to your tips.

Ive never done anything with any debugger, so I dont know what why this problem is just showing up. I can't speak for Alcohol 52, but my Alcohol 120% install folder has an uninstall file in it - uninst.exe. Out of frustration/curiosity, I installed the Pro trial instead of lite, and it worked right out of the box.I spent almost two hours screwing with reg entries, rebooting, and nearly pulverizing weblink If you can't, just right-click the folder, and click Permissions.

this worked great!your a legend now ;) Left by Gerbrand on Oct 17, 2010 5:17 PM # re: Re-Installing Daemon Tools Lite (and SPTD) on Windows 7 I second Gerband!!God bless Left by Ryan Pfister on Oct 04, 2009 9:34 AM # re: Re-Installing Daemon Tools Lite (and SPTD) on Windows 7 For those that still get the error. Just find ways to delete the "sptd" folder in the registry. 3.) Now rename or delete the 'sptd.sys' file found on Windows\system32\drivers. 4.) Download the newest SPTD Layer version "http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads".

Please re-enable javascript to access full functionality. And that has something to do with d-tools, so i really have to get it uninstalled but I get the error: 'Setup is unable to validate installation'. It is not listed in the control panel remove programs module and the uninstaller throws an error saying setup couldnt validate the installation. check over here No need of changing the registry.

Thanks again. I found the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sptd" trick on another site.

Realy aprishiate whis! I closed the uac, and also try to give permission to the owner ship tab, but still cannot wrong. Get access denied when trying to either delete or reset permissions on so-called legacy key.
