Have I correctly accounted for that? I'll have to restart clamAV again to get it check emails. I even ran dpkg-reconfigure clamav-base and made the daemon user root to see if that would help (which it didn't). ERROR However if I run sudo clamscan / it works, but this process is much longer and not a good option. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/450250

The AppArmor profile is intended to work in common usage scenarios, and if this is a common usage scenario, then perhaps adding: /** r, would be ok. One can set clamd up to run in the background and use clamdscan to send it file/directory paths to scan. Now we would like to "migrate" to Moodle 2.8 on a centos 7 server but we have some problem with the clamAV configuration (V. 0.98.7-1) on our new VM.I've installed clamAV

All in Virtualmin > Email Messages > Spam and Virus Scanning: (i) Set scanning back to the standalone; (ii) disable ClamAV server; (iii) enable ClamAV server; (iv) set scanning to use Of course it CAN be used that way, too. This allows a brief window of access, and is still 100% secure on non-shared environments, and still very secure on shared environments. A quick googling suggests that this issue is causing problems for quite a few people - it's certainly not very user-friendly, and the security benefits are questionable. Do counters combine?

What is strange is that everything looks fine after a server reboot, clamd is launched and healthy.... [[email protected] ~]# ps ax | grep clamd
25029 ? Well in fact, Moodle is scanning a file before moving it to moodledata directory. Imre Gergely (cemc) wrote on 2009-10-20: #10 The only possible benefit I can see in using clamdscan over clamscan is the speed. I was hoping that we were not the only one on earth using Moodle with CentOS 7 and ClamAv I will post the solution if we found it one day Regards,DiegoAverage

Maybe it's a permissions problem with one of the directories in the path...
